Red Cedar Jubilee

Red Cedar Jubilee is one of the most celebrated festivals in Williamston. Typically held in June, the week-long event raises funds that benefit local community groups. With the participation of sponsors and volunteers, the Jubilee committee organizes entertaining events such as a children’s bike parade, Boy Scout pancake breakfast, duck race and barbecues at this small-town festival.

Dog Days of Summer

Specially created for our furry companions, the annual Dog Days of Summer encourages paw parents in the area to bring their pets for stimulating activities including agility demonstrations, a pet parade and the Williamston’s Deputy Dog contest. A pet adoption and fundraising drive will also be conducted by the Ingham County Animal Shelter during the festival.

Labor Day Bridge Walk

Inspired by the noted Mackinac Bridge Walk led by Michigan’s governor, the City of Williamston also sponsored a Labor Day Bridge Walk every year on Labor Day. Walkers can learn about the culture and history of Williamston and enjoy the scenic Red Cedar River during the bridge crossing.

Holiday Light Parade

Presented by the Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce, every year in December, thousands of people join the jolly Christmas celebration. The highlight of the event is the lighted floats and vehicles parade that will go east on Grand River Avenue and continue to Taylor. Visitors will also meet Santa and relish in the delicious food and beverages at the festival.

Farmers’ Markets

Besides annual festivals, you can also find vibrant Farmers’ Markets every week in Spring, Summer and Fall.  You will find freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, flowers, eggs, baked goods and many other food products. Hand-crafted items by artisans are the specialty of Farmers’ Market too.
