Carolina Tarwheels Bikefest
If you’re an avid cyclist, this is the perfect festival for you! There are multiple different course options – 35, 62, and 100 mile. However, all will start in downtown Hillsborough before winding up into the countryside near Orange and Person County. A multi-course cycling adventure through the scenic sites of Orange County and Hillsborough, cyclists will be stimulated both physically and visually.
For those who want to ride non-competitively, it is also possible to sign up for the Fun Ride which is free and will feature a seven mile course around local historic sites.
Organized in Fall every year by the Hillsborough Arts Council, this street parade is styled after Mardi Gras. Every element in this parade is created by members of the community to encourage grass roots participation. If you have a chance to watch the parade, you’ll be astounded with the amazing performances by marching bands, stilt-walkers, and even giant puppets! The line up will change each year so make sure not to miss out!
Hillsborough Hog Day BBQ Festival
